As someone who is not personally a fall fan, I need a little motivation to accept the fact that summer, my favorite season, has passed. This includes surrounding myself with tons of autumn activities and scents to welcome the warm and cozy mood.
Immediately once the fall 2023 drinks came out at Starbucks, I ran to the drive thru to pick up my seasonal drink. If you’re not a pumpkin spice or chai person like me, I loved the Iced Apple Crisp Oat Milk Shaken Espresso. It’s the perfect amount of apple with a hint of cinnamon to still give you that warm spiced fall flavor and feeling. Also, offered only in the month of September, is Starbucks’ buy one, get one free drink offer, so take advantage of the fall flavors and discount while you can!
In terms of fall activities, it’s always fun to go to a pumpkin patch and pick a pumpkin to carve with your friends while watching fall movies and shows. I know Gilmore Girls is a fan favorite for the small town cozy vibes surrounding it. You can also go apple picking with friends and make apple pie or cider with the apples you pick. September to October is prime apple picking season, and although most farms can be a bit far, you can make a day of the whole experience. I remember going to Riley’s Farm as a little kid and absolutely loving the activity. The apples are perfectly ripe to eat after you pick them, and you can enjoy the fall festivities offered around the farm too.
Even to bring fall into your own home, you can break out your blankets, sweaters, and candles. Open your window at night to feel the breeze and sit snuggled in a pile of quilts, with your favorite candle burning, while watching Gilmore Girls. You can also go for a walk at around 5:00-6:00 PM for that chilly fall nip in the air and the russet hues coming through the trees from the final sun rays. The scenery and cool air on your face while walking feels like the epitome of fall. These little things, for some reason I can’t explain, creates such an autumn atmosphere and makes it so easy to embrace the fall.
