What To Do Over Winter Break
January 7, 2019
Everyone is quickly counting down the final hours until winter break. Now, the time off can be nice at first, but soon there is nothing left to do and boredom strikes. Luckily, Smoke Signals has compiled a list of activities to do to keep you busy during the three week break.
- The holidays are a time for family. Spend time with a brother, sister, or any family member of your liking. Some simple yet entertaining things to do are: play video games, go out to eat, or watch a movie.
- Everyone likes sweets, so why not test your baking skills? Baking delicious cookies or building a sweet gingerbread house is the perfect, most tasty way to waste time.
- If you aren’t much of a foodie or homebody, no need to fret. A trip to a skating rink–roller or ice is up to you–makes for a joyful, relatively inexpensive activity. Prices typically range from $10-$25.
- Are you wanderlust? If your budget allows, go on an adventure! Some California winter destinations include: Palm Springs, Big Bear, Lake Tahoe, and Mammoth Mountain. Most of these locations have a handful of ski resorts and beautiful views to look at.
- Treating yourself is another way to say goodbye to 2018 and welcome 2019. Start the new year off with a new look, whether it be simple trip to the spa, or getting a haircut. Pampering yourself is an excellent way to make yourself feel happy and relaxed.
- Since we ring in the new year over break, a good idea would be to start working on those darn new year’s resolutions. Whether or not you follow through with them, it’s the thought that counts, right?
Well folks, I hope this list saved you from at least a little boredom. Have a safe and joyous break. See you in 2019!
