From Worst to Pretty Good
April 9, 2019
This NFL off season has been insane with all these moves, but the most surprising by far is Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns. The Giants previously were thought to have Odell on their untouchable list, but apparently the Browns worked some magic to get themselves a new number one receiver.
The Browns have a really promising offense in the upcoming season. The offense has Baker Mayfield, Jarvis Landry, Kareem Hunt, and David Njoku. Because of this, anything less than the playoffs is a failed season. The Browns are in a win-now situation. They’re getting all these big names to potentially build up to a Super Bowl run in the upcoming years. If you heard that two years ago, you would be laughing. The Cleveland Browns are going from zero to hero very quickly, and all the Giants fans will be switching over to the Browns with the loss of their beloved Odell.
The biggest problem for the Browns is going to be their defense. The defense isn’t necessarily bad, but it’s not the greatest; they have Denzel Ward and Myles Garrett, and that’s about it. The defense needs to really step it up this upcoming season, especially with the loss of their linebacker Jamie Collins. If this team wants to succeed, the offense will have to live up to its potential and the defense will have to exceed expectations. At best, the Browns will be maybe 10-6 or 11-5 this season, which is a huge improvement for them.
