Lillard vs Westbrook
April 23, 2019
The NBA playoffs are finally under way, and the competition has begun between two highly regarded point guards.
If you are not familiar with these two players, their names are: Damian Lillard (of the Portland Trail Blazers) and Russell Westbrook (of the Oklahoma City Thunder).
During the regular season, Lillard averaged 26 points and 7 assists, while Westbrook averaged 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists just this year.
Both players are clearly monster point guards who can take down a team all on their own. In the short time that the playoffs have been going on, Damian Lillard and the Trail Blazers are 2 games to none, and the competition is extra high as Lillard and Westbrook go at it on the court. Lillard dropped 30 points in the first game to Westbrooks 24 points.
Things were getting competitive on the court when in game 2 a loose ball allowed for Westbrook and Lillard togo after it as Westbrook fell on the floor while Lillard fought for the ball. In an apparent shove from Lillard to Westbrook, Westbrook fell backwards, showing that both players are willing to get a little dirty to outscore one another.
In this series, so far, they appear to be fighting like longtime rivals, which is awesome and entertaining to see. This series overall has been crazy with Lillard shooting threes from 30 feet out and Westbrook’s playmaking ability.
As the series goes back to OKC, it will be interesting to see how the Thunder will clap back in game three, or if they even will. The Trail Blazers came out strong and look like they will end strong. While I don’t see the Thunder getting swept, they will not win the series because the Blazers look strong right now. I can see an end to this series at 4-1, in favor of the Trail Blazers.
