Elon Musk revealed a new electric pickup truck made by Tesla last month on November 21. The Cybertruck is basically a normal pickup truck, however everything about it is better than a normal truck, and it looks extremely different from any other vehicle.

Unlike other trucks, the Cybertruck has an exoskeleton. It is an outer shell for the truck and it is designed to protect the truck and the passengers in it. The shell is made out of Ultra-Hard 30x Cold-Rolled Stainless Steel, it is the same metal used in the SpaceX rockets, so it is super durable. At the Cybertruck presentation, Elon’s co-worker

Franz von Holzhausen first smashed a normal truck door with a sledgehammer, and it left a few dents on the door. Next he moved onto the Cybertruck door, and the sledgehammer just bounced off. It didn’t even leave a small scratch on the door.  The windows on the trick are made of an ultra-strong glass and polymer-layered composite. Which means it is extremely durable and things would bounce off it like it did with the door. However that wasn’t the case at the glass demo at the presentation. When Franz threw a steel ball at the window, it cracked, but didn’t go through.

On November 25, 4 days after the presentation, Elon tweeted, “Yup. Sledgehammer impact on door cracked base of glass, which is why steel ball didn’t bounce off. Should have done steel ball on window, *then* sledgehammer the door. Next time …”. Although the glass broke, and even though the truck isn’t going to be out until late 2021, Tesla received over 200,000 orders after 3 days since the reveal. 

The truck has 3 models. The Single motor RWd ($39,000), The Dual motor AWD ($49,000), and the Triple motor AWD ($69,000). The Triple motor is their best one because it can go from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds. It’s range is 500+ miles and it can tow over 14,000 pounds. 

The Cybertruck also has air suspension, which means the car will adjust how short or tall it is depending on where you want to go and what is on the car. It does this because it will help you get to your destination faster. The truck also has 100 cubic feet of storage space and can pull over 14,000 pounds. It is a 6 seater and has a built in touchscreen. The Cybertruck is the most powerful tool Tesla has made.
