McDonald’s regulars have been asking for bakery items to be put on the menu permanently for months, and their pleas have finally been answered. The new McCafe Bakery lineup consists of the Apple Fritter, Cinnamon Roll, and Blueberry Muffin, catering to many sweet tooths throughout the United States.

The Apple Fritter is a fall classic. Made with cinnamon and apples, fried, and glazed with icing, it’s a perfectly sweet treat. Following the cinnamon pattern is the Cinnamon Roll, which is made with cinnamon layered between pastry dough and topped with cream cheese icing. Lastly, the Blueberry Muffin has just the right amount of sweetness in it, and is finished with a streusel crumb topping. If you’d like to try to make one at home, here’s a simple recipe that has already helped countless others make theirs.

All three of these menu items will be available all day at all locations in the United States, starting October 28, 2020.

Though the new additions pleased McDonald’s fans, that was not the reason that the Corporation added them. Ever since quarantine started, due to the coronavirus pandemic, many customers have had to adjust to completely new routines, as they were now working from home. Breakfast sales at McDonald’s were under immense pressure. In fact, the NPD Group found that morning meal transactions at numerous restaurant chains fell 18% in the week that ended on June 7, compared to the same time frame the year before.

Fortunately for the company, their lunch and dinner sales weren’t majorly affected by the order to stay home. The drive-thru has remained open ever since quarantine began, attracting customers both old and new.

McDonald’s has been able to make a comeback with the help of promotions, such as the Travis Scott Burger, created by rapper Travis Scott. Despite any drawbacks that quarantine may have caused, it doesn’t look like McDonald’s will ever have to suffer for long; the company always has something to pull out from under its belt when needed.
