New Year, New Grammys
The 2023 Grammy Award Show is not one to miss, and here’s why.
As the new year approached, there were a new set of nominations released for the Grammy Awards 2023. From Record of the Year, to Album of the Year, to Song of the Year (and many more), numerous amounts of deserving individuals have been nominated for their deserving categories, and it is pretty hard to distinguish who will win.
Coming in with 6 nominations in categories Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Music Video, Harry Styles has also been set to perform at the award show this Sunday. Previously, Styles won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Solo Performance in the 2021 ceremony. The 29-year-old worldwide sensation is very much deserving of all of his nominations, especially with all of the achievements he has accomplished these past years.
As she made her return in 2021 with 30, Adele has been nominated for 7 Grammys, within the categories of Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Music Video, and Best Music Film. The 15 Grammy Award-winning star has made the comeback with her amazing album, and her achievements have been inspiring and admirable. She never fails to make amazing yet emotional music, and it is nice to see that all her accomplishments are being recognized.
Shining light on popstar Taylor Swift, the singer-songwriter has been nominated for 4 Grammys, within the categories of Song of the Year, Best Country Song, Best Song Written for Visual Media, and Best Music Video. If the new editions of her older albums (better known as Taylor’s Version) are not included, then her last album was in 2020/2021 evermore. In 2022, however, Swift released Midnights, which was filled with some of the most catchy, on-repeat, emotional songs ever. The 33-year-old singer is quite the ‘mastermind’, especially with her lyrics, and it is delightful that she is getting nominated and recognized for her hard work and dedication.
The artists listed above were just a few from a list of many individuals who are deserving of their nominations. It is difficult to choose from such a great group of artists who will take home awards, but nonetheless, every single individual deserves to be recognized for the hard work that they have put in to create their music. We shall see this Sunday, February 5th!
