Preparing for Prom

Time is ticking, juniors and seniors! Prom is just around the corner! Prom is the most anticipated school event for upperclassmen. It’s a night you’ll remember for many years to come; a night where you can go all out and feel like a glamorous movie star. It can be hard to make a decision on the right dress, tux, and dining, but luckily Smoke Signals is here to help!

Since this year’s prom theme is “Prom Among the Stars,” try going for colors that represent the galaxy. A dress that’s a darker blue with lots of sparkles would be well fitting for this year’s theme. Richer colors like gold and burgundy will also work because they reflect the colors you would see in the galaxy. Dresses that are long and flowing are always a fine choice for looking exquisite at prom. For hair, luscious curls are a must. Sparkly dark blue eye shadow will also be perfect for making your prom look more complete.  For guys, finding the perfect tux is essential. A black, dark blue, or grey tux would work well with a gold or dark blue tie. A black tux with a black shirt, and a burgundy tie would be a refined and classy look.

As for corsages, it is important that the color of your corsage matches the color of your dress or tux, or contrasts the outfit. The average corsage price spent at Prom is $35-$40, and the average boutonniere price is $15-$20.

It is also important to eat at a restaurant that you and your friends will enjoy. If you’re looking for a more upscale restaurant, try dining at The Cheesecake Factory or Orange Hill Restaurant. If you want to dine at somewhere more casual, try heading over to Pizza Press or Blaze Pizza located in the Orange Circle. If you like Italian food, dining at Macaroni Grill or Olive Garden are good options. These looks and delicious dining options will make you feel like you’re one with the stars.

Prom will be a magical night and one that you will look back on fondly.
