Water Polo: Canyon vs. Villa Park

Canyon faced VP on Tuesday, October 23. The tension was all the way dialed up for one of the most important games of the season for either team. If Canyon were to win, they would secure a spot in the CIF playoffs, but if the Comanches were to lose, the spot would be decided by wildcard selection.

With the bleachers filled with parents and friends, both teams were ready to go. The tension had hit its peak as the ball was dropped for the sprint. The Comanches and the Spartans battled the entire game. Every play, pass, and goal was earned through blood, sweat, and tears.

After another very solid performance by talented sophomore, Ryan Pierce, who scored two goals, and a great game from Kade Leidholdt, which has become the norm for three years now, pitching in a goal, the Comanches came up just short. Their rivals beat them after a brutal foul by Leidholdt, which had him removed from the game, with the score at 4-8.

Even after suffering a loss, there is still hope for a wildcard spot in the CIF playoffs for the Comanches.
