Winter Pep Rally

On Feb. 1, in Canyon High’s Gym, the Winter Pep Rally took place. As always, there was a rally for the freshmen and sophomores, while the other was for the juniors and seniors.

The first performance was the singing of the National Anthem by Canyon’s lovely choir, along with their choir teacher Mrs. Ariel May.

Several winter sports teams also performed short self-choreographed dances, including: boys basketball and soccer, girls soccer, basketball, cheer, song, the company, and water polo.

Activities held during the event included a scavenger hunt and musical chairs. For the scavenger hunt, the score was two for the freshmen, three for sophomores, five for juniors, and two for the Seniors. Additionally, the seniors, as well as the sophomore students, won the Musical Chairs Tournament. Congratulations, to those who participated in those activities and claimed a victory! The sight of the competition between classes was overall exciting.

Throughout the rally, students on the bleachers were very pumped, and the excitement was clearly shown on their faces. The freshmen and sophomores stomped on the bleachers while juniors and seniors cheered. All of Canyon’s students were making noise because they all wanted to show their high school pride.

A junior, by the name of Renata Hanano, was submerged in the crowd. Of the experience, Hanano stated,          “Everyone was loud and hyped at that pep rally, but in a good way. I don’t think I’ve ever seen people this excited.” Hanano cheered on while the Pep Rally was still in motion.

This has been, by far, one of the most enthusiastic rallies this school year.
