The Fortnite Killer

With the new craze of the free game, Apex Legends, Fortnite is slowly dying.

The game is very similar to Fortnite in the aspect of it being a battle royale game, which means that 100 players are pitted against each other and have to fight to survive to be the last one standing. Still, there are many differences between the two games.

First, Apex Legends uses classes. The classes are different characters that you can use with different skill sets. One character, Bloodhound, is known as a tracker. He has the ability to scan his immediate surroundings to see if hostiles are nearby. Another character is Pathfinder. As you can assume from his name, he is great at navigating the ever changing terrain of the island. His ultimate ability can create a zip-line for the rest of his team to use to get them places they typically would not be able to go. It’s also a great escape plan.

One major difference is that it’s a first person shooter, unlike Fortnite, which is a third person shooter.

In Apex, the weapons are scattered throughout the map along with healing items. You and your team scour the island trying to get the best loot possible to increase your chances of becoming the champion.

One of the biggest complaints of the game, however, is that there is only one game mode, which is playing in a squad of not 4, but 3. This is a problem for people who have nobody to play with because they are placed with people they don’t know and might not want to talk to them, but Apex has the solution. The game has a great pinging system where you can mark where you want to go or where an item or weapon is and the whole team will be alerted. The voice lines in the game are also very helpful because they can tell you how far the next circle is to run to or how much time you have to get there.

I personally am really enjoying this game and will probably be playing until the Apex killer comes around–that is if there even is one.

I rate this game 9.4/10.
