JuiceWrld, Dead at 21

21 year old rapper, JuiceWrld has died after suffering a seizure at the Chicago Midway Airport after swallowing percocet. The hitmaking Rapper, born Jarad Anthony Higgins grew up in the Chicago rapper and was a symbol of drugs and depression. Higgins first found success in the music world with a hit single titled “All Girls are the Same” that covered the topics of heartbreak and drug abuse, “Need a bartender, put me out my sorrow.” Juice’s sound was unlike any other before him as he effortlessly infused punk rock and rap, making him one of the biggest rappers of the Soundcloud era.

JuiceWrld’s biggest hit, “Lucid Dreams” topped at number two on the Billboard top 200 and was sung by every heartbroken teenager in the country. His Sting sampled classic was actually claimed by the band as they took 85% of the royalties to the song, but JuiceWrld didn’t seem to care. He said “That song is so much more expensive than money can buy”. Higgins was also a huge contributor to the growth in the music video channel “Lyrical Lemonade”. Cole Bennett’s brain child is now one of the most well respected players in the rap industry and JuiceWrld’s “Lucid Dreams” had a lot to do with that.

Higgins was, by all accounts, a gentle soul who had passed much too soon. He touched the hearts of millions of fans with his emo-rap style. With his death JuiceWrld is just another tragic death in the young, drug induced wave of Soundcloud and emo rap. His story is awful on many levels, but from Mac Miller to Fredo Montana these sudden deaths have come much to frequently.

The life of drugs, partying, and superstardom is one that shouldn’t be lived by any 18 year old kid. So, if we were to take anything from the awful and early death of JuiceWrld, it is that drugs aren’t something to be taken lightly. Any day one pill could end your life.
