Covid-19 Poem: Covid-19 Breaching

Siraj Bajwa, Writer

School was out

And a few weeks of freedom were promised

Which really turned into an eternity of logout

For a while, I was the calmest

As an introvert

Staying home was not issue

Eventually, though, thoughts of friends I missed I had to avert

In order to protect my box of tissue

Online classes began

And the age of pointless school commenced

Assignments being completed as fast as one can

Long lessons being condensed

Revealing the true purpose of physical school

To be the student interactions, and teachers teaching

The classes, the library, the pool

All abandoned, Covid-19 breaching
