Two hands wrapped in vines reaching out.

I met this boy,
His name was Death
And what he seemed was not quite set
He turned to me with darkest eyes
As I laughed against the bright blue skies
He couldn’t understand,
And yet he too did stand
I danced among the flowers and trees
With the birds that flew above the breeze
He saw himself join with me,
And together we ran merrily
His clouded eyes saw the sun’s bright light,
And his heart left its deep dark night
We passed through the day happily,
And saw the dusk come and leave
He turned to me with loving eyes
As I laughed against the moonlit skies
He somehow could understand,
As he offered up his hand
We danced among the grass and leaves
With shadows that of the light, were thieves
I saw myself join with him,
And together we ran through the dim
My sparkling eyes saw the moon’s bright light,
And my heart joined that deep dark night
Oh, I met this boy,
His name was Death
And what he seemed was not quite set
