Getting Your Permit:

  • Must be at least 15½ years old
  • Complete Approved Driver Education program (Provide certificate of completion)
  • Pass the Knowledge test, 38 out of 46 questions correct. (You have 3 tries to get it correct and if you fail, you must wait 7 days to take it again)
  • Completed the Driver’s License/ ID Card Application (This can be found on the DMV’s website or through a simple Google Search)
  • Must have a parent or legal guardian’s signature on the application if under the age of 18

Getting Your License:

Once you’re squared away with all the prep work, now you’re ready to go down to the DMV and take your test. Great! All you have to do is check off a few more things then you’re squared away to take your test! The requirements are:

  • Must be between 16-18 years old
  • Have held your permit for six months
  • Have completes Driver education and Drive Training with an instructor
  • You must complete 50 hours of driving with someone over 25 years of age on your own time (10 of those hours must be at night)
