The Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF) games consist of 10 different games, starting with FNAF 1, made in 2014, to the most recent, Security Breach, made in 2021. Even with all these games that are not made in chronological order, the games have hidden and complex lore. There are even books that help decipher the lore.

The Lore

The lore of the game starts when two friends William Afton and Henry Emily decide to open a family-friendly pizzeria called Fredbear’s Family Diner. Both William and Henry are fathers to their own families. William has two sons named Even Afton and Michel Afton, and a daughter named Elizebeth Afton. Henry only has one daughter named Charlotte Emily. They decided to make spring lock costumes, which were extremely dangerous for a person to wear, of a bear and a rabbit. Later on, William uses those suits to murder five children, for an unknown reason, which he would stuff in the extra animatronics. Multiple Fazbear Entertainments places went out of business because of this, but that didn’t stop him. He kept killing children with animatronics until he died from the spring trap suit.

Are the Games Worth It?

The Five Nights at Freddy’s games have an average of a 4-star rating, from parents and children. The older games have more simple gameplay compared to the new ones. They take place in an office room that has a door and window on both sides. It gives you the ability to interact with the doors, security footage, and wearing a Freddy mask. The goal of the game is live until 6 a.m. These games are almost built off jumpscares. There are 6 nights, with each night getting harder and harder than the last. The games don’t give you a lot of the lore while playing, but there are minigames and cut scenes with it. FNAF falls under the survival genre and really lives up to it. These games can be played on almost every device, mobile, PC, and console. There are even VR games that add a whole nother level of scary to it.

There are still more Five Nights at Freddy’s games that will come out in the future and overall these games are very well made. Most fans are excited for new games and for more of the loopholes to be filled.
