The Once and Future King Poem

The Once and Future King Poem

The Once and future king

Oh once and future king,
Sit along and sing
Wave your banner high
look up to the sky
Raise your sword and come
Battle is nearly done
Open up your eyes,
See the thundering skies
And ride along the tide
Long before the last stride
Of the once and future king

Oh look upon the battlefield
Let thy courage never yield
With all of your might,
Let us now fight
With swords and shields
And strength we wield
With the once and future king

Oh continue on
Though the light is gone
But here the king is hit,
And so the battle is split
The enemy has lost
And now we see the cost
For the once and future king

Oh Sir Bedivere has come now
To say goodbye, but how?
Arthur say your final command,
Give your sword back to the hand
You have done your final test
Now good man take your rest
Soon you will return to Avalon
As you sail against the morning dawn
Farewell, for now we shall sing
Of the once and future king.
