Yoga is a combination of both mind and body practices. Yoga offers many styles that combine physical poses, breathing methods, and meditation or relaxation techniques. Meditation is also another popular practice that has numerous benefits. It can help you become mindful and focus your mind on specific thoughts. The act also helps you become mentally clear and emotionally calm. This sounds like the perfect activity for teens who usually suffer from stress, insomnia or anxiety.

Yoga originated from ancient India, and is practiced within the religions Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. An Indian teacher who went by the name Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, also known as “the father of modern yoga”, created modern yoga in the 19th century (1930s). Although, yoga was originally developed by the Indus-Sarasvati civilization in Northern India over 5,000 years ago. Krishnamacharya was born on November 18, 1888. He taught yoga for 7 years and later died on February 28, 1989.

Yoga is good for you because it relaxes your mind and sharpens concentration. It’s also very beneficial for your body because it grows your body awareness. Plus, it helps to maintain bone strength, joint mobility, and joint stability. Studies also show that yoga helps improve your heart health and lower risks for heart diseases.

There are several different types of meditation. The most popular types of meditations are mindful and spiritual meditation. Mindfulness meditation is a meditation in which you focus on your awareness in things that you are feeling in the moment. Spiritual meditation is when you go into a really deep meditation and go on an experience that’ll deeply help you find who you truly are, not just you as a person but regarding your soul, too. It’s an experience where you find peace and more love for yourself. Overall, meditation is something that should be practiced by everyone.
